Pet Feeder Pro

This project was born from a personal experience after moving to Madrid and bringing my dog with me. Living alone and spending long hours away from home raised a constant concern about her feeding routine and well-being. Rather than relying on fixed schedules or external help, the project explores how product design can offer autonomy, control, and peace of mind to pet owners in similar situations.

Role & Scope

My role focused on the conceptualization and design of an automated pet feeding system aimed at people who live alone and need a reliable way to manage their pet’s nutrition while away from home. The scope included defining the user experience, the feeding logic, and the physical interaction between the user and the product.

Strategy

The design strategy centered on combining automation with transparency and control. The feeder allows users to program feeding times while also monitoring the quantity of food through an integrated weighing system. A rotating, mill-like internal mechanism ensures controlled dispensing, helping regulate portions and maintain consistent feeding habits.

The product was designed to be intuitive, easy to refill, and visually calm, integrating seamlessly into domestic environments without adding complexity to daily routines.

Impact

The project proposes a solution that supports responsible pet care while adapting to contemporary lifestyles. By enabling remote planning and precise portion control, the feeder reduces anxiety for pet owners and promotes healthier feeding routines for pets.
Pet Feeder Pro highlights how everyday domestic products can respond to emotional needs as much as functional ones, strengthening the bond between users and their pets through trust, reliability, and thoughtful design.
